Congratulations!  The Connecticut Speech and Hearing Foundation just awarded its 4th Mini-Grant to three clinicians working at CCMC.  Sara Burnham, MA, Lauren Varholak, MS, and Katie McLoughlin, MS, developed a proposal to support children age birth-18 who are in the Connecticut Children’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and have temporary or acquired communication impairments.   You’ll hear more about their exciting project once they begin to purchase some of the materials they need with the monetary support from the Foundation.

Why don’t YOU consider being our 5th recipient?  If you are a practicing clinician and have an idea or project that would enhance the lives and communication needs of your clients, then consider submitting your proposal NOW!  Keep in mind you must be a CSHA member to apply, so be sure to renew your membership if it has lapsed.  Mini-grant applications will be available at the CSHA Fall Conference, or you can request one directly using one of the following email addresses: or  Deadline for submission is April 1, 2020.

Put your thinking caps on. Who couldn’t benefit from $500!

Many thanks for your continued support of the Foundation,
JoAnn Q. Forman, CSHF President
